We have received word that Lone Star Family Health Clinic is planning a massive vaccination event at the Woodforest location on Tuesday, April 27.  Apparently upwards of 8,000 vaccines are expected to be given.  You can follow their facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/LoneStarFamilyHealthCenter/

Previous massive Lone Star events have been absolutely crippling for traffic in the surrounding area.  We are still planning on holding swim practice at the NAT that day, but you need to add extra time and have extra patience when going to practice on Tuesday.  Please remember to approach from the South (Tamina/Research Forest to David Memorial), and have your Natatorium Access Sign clearly visible.  There will likely be an increased Police and National Guard attendance, and some of them are likely to be new and unfamiliar with the signs - you must still slow down and speak with them unless they see your sign and wave you on through.

This has been provided to us by the Natatorium to be used in vehicles when approaching and entering the Natatorium.  There has been a large amount of traffic and confusion related to the vaccinations taking place in the parking lot.  In an effort to assist, the district has created signage that can be displayed to help law enforcement recognize that you are attempting to get to the Natatorium, and are not attempting to cut into the vaccination line.

We have been asked to relay to all users that Natatorium traffic should always approach and enter from the South (do not try and cut through the Portofino shopping center/Sam's Club).  This would be from Research Forest/Tamina and around/behind Home Depot, and then turning left onto David Memorial Drive.  All vehicles should be prepared to stop and communicate with law enforcement that they are headed to the Natatorium and the signage can help them recognize this. Everyone still needs to stop, roll down your window, speak to the officers, politely indicate you are a swimmer, and obey all instructions from law enforcement at all times!!! 

Please remember that these officers and guardsmen are trying to do their job and keep everyone safe...99% of the cars that they encounter have completely ignored the vaccination directions and they are forced to tell them to turn around and follow directions.  This is what they are expecting when they encounter a car coming their way.

The Natatorium is preparing to print a large number of these at some time, and will hand them out.  I suggest you print this attachment at home as we do not know when the Natatorium will receive them.

Dear WMST Swimmers, 

The Woodlands Masters Swim Team is aware of the most recent announcement by Governor Abbott of Texas.  The health and safety of our swimmers is our number one concern; therefore, WMST will continue to follow all of the Health Protocols that we have had in place which include masks, social distancing, and limiting the number of swimmers per lane.  These protocols have been in place since the summer and we have had no evidence of swimmer-to-swimmer transmission, and a limited number of isolated positive COVID cases. 

WMST has a wide range of ages in our practices, and tends to lean towards the "more mature" end of the spectrum.  We hope that each and every one of our members will continue to respect and follow our protocols, and understand why we continue to have them in place.

Well, what can I say? When it rains, it pours....or in our case....ices, freezes, and bursts!  I received an email from the NAT stating that a couple of their back flow preventers have burst, and the main water supply to the facility has been shut down to give maintenance time to assess and hopefully fix the situation.  The hope is for the NAT to re-open Monday morning, but I don't know if that means in time for 5:30am workout. 

So, what does this mean for us? All practices are canceled for Thursday and Friday.  Saturday and Sunday practices are in limbo while I try to secure time and space at either Northampton or Inway. 

I will email with an update as soon as I know anything about workouts for this weekend.

Good Morning WMST,

I just wanted to pass along a few updates from the CISD Natatorium.  First off, the NAT will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, September 7th, which means no workouts that day.

And now for the bigger update...beginning Tuesday, September 8th, CISD as a whole will return to in person learning and school schedules will begin to return to normal.  The Swim Shop will open back up at the NAT, in addition to the Locker Rooms reopening.  The Mask Policy will still remain in place, you are to wear a mask at all times in the building except for when you are in the water.  While the Locker Rooms are reopening, and you may use them, it is still highly recommended by the NAT that you arrive and leave in your suit if possible because they will be limiting the number of people in the locker room to 10 at a time.  Please continue to maintain 6 feet of separation as much as possible.  Separate entry and exit points will still be maintained
